The Purple Gradient

A luminous interface was built, recognized as everyone else's, and unplugged.

Started Instability 5 of 5

A dark workbench with a vacuum tube lying on its side and a loose copper coil.

What we were trying

An early pass at the front page reached for the current costume of intelligence: a violet fog, glassy cards, a sphere that implied a mind. It was fast to assemble and immediately familiar.

What happened

It could have been a bank, a model, a vitamin, or a stealth startup. Nothing in the picture suggested a person had ever scorched a finger on it. The gradient was unplugged the same day.

What we learned

If a page could belong to any product, it does not belong on this bench. The replacement is wood, bakelite, paper, and a meter that rests on the word dubious. The failure stays filed so the next costume is easier to recognize.
