Failures stay on the record
A shelf that only shows the survivors is a brochure.
The easiest way to look competent is to bury the attempts that did not work. The shelf gets shorter and cleaner, and also less true. Project Sandbox keeps a lamp specifically for the ones that failed. The write-up is the deliverable.
The purple gradient is the current example. It was built, recognized as a costume, and unplugged. Leaving it published is cheaper than rediscovering it in six months under a new name.
A failure can still be edited. It should not be embarrassed into the trash just because a visitor might see it. That visitor is the point.
